Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the mainwatershutoff.com website and any plumbing services provided by Main Water Shutoff LLC ("we", "us", or "Main Water Shutoff"). By booking a visit, requesting a quote, or having us perform work at your property, you agree to these Terms.
1. Who We Are
Main Water Shutoff LLC is a residential plumbing contractor located at 1100 Melody Ln #1024, Roseville, CA 95678, operating under California License #112352. We specialize in residential water-line work: main water shut-off valve replacement, automatic water shut-off installation, hose-bib replacement, and pressure reducing valve replacement.
2. Quotes and Pricing
All pricing on our website and in initial conversations is an estimate. A binding flat-rate price is provided in writing only after we inspect the work area on-site. You are not obligated to proceed; we will not charge for the initial diagnostic visit unless we specifically inform you of a trip fee in advance and you agree to it.
Quoted prices assume normal access conditions and a code-compliant existing plumbing system. If we discover hidden conditions during work (e.g., corroded pipe behind a wall, undisclosed prior repairs, code violations that must be brought up to code), we will pause work, explain the issue, and provide a revised written quote before continuing.
3. Scheduling and Cancellation
- Appointments are confirmed by phone or text within 10 minutes of booking.
- You may reschedule or cancel without charge up to 24 hours before your appointment.
- For emergency or same-day service, cancellation made after the technician is en route may incur a trip fee equal to the minimum service call.
- If we cancel or reschedule, we'll notify you as soon as possible and rebook at your convenience.
4. Customer Responsibilities
- Provide accurate contact, address, and access information through the booking form.
- Ensure an adult (18+) is present and authorized to approve work at the time of the appointment.
- Provide reasonable access to the main water line, water meter, and any related fixtures.
- Disclose known prior repairs, leaks, or modifications to the water system.
- Make payment as specified in the written quote upon completion of work, unless agreed otherwise in writing.
5. Warranty
We offer a two (2) year warranty on parts and labor for all work we perform, beginning on the date of completion. The warranty covers:
- Defects in materials supplied by us
- Defects in workmanship of installations we performed
- Re-performance of the specific work covered, or refund at our option
The warranty does not cover:
- Damage caused by freezing, impact, vandalism, earthquakes, floods, or other events outside our control
- Modifications, alterations, or repairs performed by anyone other than Main Water Shutoff
- Issues caused by water quality, municipal water-supply problems, or fixtures and pipe outside the scope of our installation
- Normal wear of consumable items (washers, O-rings, batteries in smart devices, etc.) beyond 90 days

6. Smart Automatic Shut-Off Devices
Automatic water shut-off devices (such as Moen Flo, Phyn, or comparable products) are manufactured by third parties. Our installation work is warranted under Section 5; however, device functionality, Wi-Fi connectivity, app behavior, and software updates are governed by the manufacturer's terms and warranty. We are not responsible for the manufacturer's product defects, service outages, discontinued cloud services, or app changes.
7. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by California law, our total liability for any claim arising out of work we performed or these Terms is limited to the amount you paid us for that specific job. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages, including but not limited to lost wages, alternative housing costs, or damage to personal property, except to the extent caused by our negligence or as required by law. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under California law (including liability for gross negligence, willful misconduct, or personal injury caused by us).
8. Insurance
Main Water Shutoff carries general liability insurance and workers' compensation coverage as required by California law. Proof of coverage is available on request.
9. Photos and Job Documentation
We may take photos of the work area before and after our work for our records, warranty documentation, and (occasionally) anonymized portfolio use on our website. If you do not want us to use anonymized photos publicly, tell the technician on-site or email us — we'll honor the request.
10. Disputes and Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute relating to our services or these Terms must be brought in a court of competent jurisdiction located in Placer County or Sacramento County, California, and you consent to the jurisdiction of those courts.
Before filing a lawsuit, both parties agree to make a good-faith attempt to resolve the dispute by direct communication. You may also file a complaint with the California Contractors State License Board (CSLB) at cslb.ca.gov.
11. Mechanic's Lien Notice (California)
Under California law, anyone who helps to improve your property — including contractors, subcontractors, and material suppliers — may record a mechanic's lien against your property if not paid. We will provide all required preliminary notices and lien releases as required by California Civil Code §8000 et seq.
12. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The version in effect at the time you booked your appointment governs that job. The current version on our website governs future jobs.
13. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect.
